The 101 Car Club has 26 members from the Yachats, Waldport, and Seal Rock, Oregon area. 

Objectives: 

1. Promote the appreciation and enjoyment of motorized vehicles. This may include, but not limited to: cars, trucks, motorcycles, 

atvs and airplanes.

2. Provide activities and functions that encourage the involvement of individual members, their families and our community.

3. Encourage interaction amongst members that promotes appreciation and respect for each other, thereby creating and maintaining a positive club atmosphere.

Operations: All persons abiding within the clubs objections (listed above) are welcome to attend and participate in club activities.  

Members are considered to be all those who: 1) attend activities, 2) agree to and abide by club objectives, and 3) have paid current club dues.

Individuals demonstrating behavior contrary to club objectives may be denied membership and/or attendance to club activities. This would require a minimum vote of approval by 70% of current club members.

Yearly dues: $20 per individual or family, $10 for individuals 18 yrs and under, and no charge to anyone actively serving in the Armed Forces.

"U.S. 101 Car Club" is a non-profit corporation. All club money is used to pay for club operations or is donated to charitable causes. (see form 501 (c) (3))

Leadership and direction: is provided through discussion and input at meetings and individual members serving on voluntary committees. Specific roles and duties are performed by individuals who have been approved by a majority vote of members:

     President - Kent Hansen: lead meetings, direct Beach Comber Car Show and the other club activities.

     Vice President - Dennis Ver-steeg: Take over president's responsibilities in the president's absence.

     Secretary - Angela Bourgerie: Take meeting minutes and email members regarding upcoming meetings and activities. 

     Treasurer - Linda Plotkin: keep financial records

Activities: 

Monthly Meetings - Held monthly on the first Wednesday, 6pm at individual member's shops as determined by the club membership. Also held at Bill's Chevron and Tire (Hwy 101 and Hwy 34 junction, Waldport, OR) when a member’s shop is not available.     

"U.S. 101 Car Show" - Held on the 3rd Saturday each June, in conjunction with the City of Waldport's "Beachcomber Days" festivities. The profits from the car show are given out to local charities.

Shop Talks - Individuals volunteer to host an informal meeting for club members at their shop or garage.

Community Christmas Tree - Helping provide Christmas gifts for community members in need.

Cruisin' for Crab Car Show - Sponsoredd by Waldport Chamber of Commerce in September, car club members help in the parking and set-up of vehicles.

2016 US101 Car Show 

The day started out cloudy with a few drizzles, then the sun came out at about 11:00am and the rest of the day was nice and sunny. Fifty four street rods, hot rods and classics showed up and were nicely displayed. Approximately 10 cars were in the parade, the mayor of Waldport rode in one of the cars. The club served hamburgers, chips and pop and or water for $6.00.

Twenty two trophies were awarded, the Best of Show went to a 57 chevy pick up which was an engineering master piece and very well displayed. The classes (Best 30’s, Best 50’s etc). were voted on by the participants, the Sponsor’s Choices were voted on by the sponsor’s and in their absence, club members, club members voted on “Best of Show”.
